Tickets for the Fundraising Gala Dinner, which will be held on Friday, 29 November 2019, at 7:30 pm at Nissan Banqueting Hall, Bethlehem, are available now at the Advancement Office.

The cost of a ticket for Faculty/ Staff and their partners is 150 NIS.
The cost of a ticket for guests is 200 NIS.

Dean of Research Office

  • Dean of Research Office, in cooperation with the Danish House in Palestine, the Faculty of Arts and the Department of Humanities, announces Book Launch: "The Ever-Elusive Past: Discussions of Palestine's History and Heritage" By Thomas L. Thompson and Ingrid Hjelm (University of Copenhagen). A non-biblical re-evaluation of Palestine's history and culture rooted in current archaeological, ethnographic and anthropological developments. The event will be on Thursday, 21 November 2019, at 11:30 am in Furno Hall.

Department of Physical and Occupational Therapy


On Friday, 8 November 2019, the Occupational Therapy senior students set up activities on campus for all students in celebration of World Occupational Therapy Day. Different diseases and conditions were highlighted; from mental health to low vision.


On Saturday, 9 November 2019, the Occupational Therapy students participated in the annual olive picking at the Four Homes of Mercy in Al-Azariya (Bethany). The residents and students picked the olives and then students held activities in the afternoon.

Hackathon – 2019
Bethlehem University
November 28, 29 & 30, 2019

Event Brief

A Hackathon will be held at Bethlehem University between the 28th and the 30th of November 2019. The focus of this Hackathon will be on environment and renewable energy, in particular, solar energy. During the Hackathon, entrepreneurs/participants will work in teams on generating ideas regarding the theme of the Hackathon and developing these ideas into working business models and prototypes. This will be done with the help of specialized mentors and consultants who will guide the entrepreneurs throughout their innovative projects. Each team will get the chance to pitch their project to a committee that will shortlist a selection of good ideas: the best 3 ideas will be incubated at the Bethlehem Business Incubator (BBI) which will provide consultancy and technical assistance during the incubation to transform those ideas into a real income-generating business that will create job opportunities after the incubation period, whereas the other shortlisted ideas will be pre-incubated. The entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to present their ideas to investors and entrepreneurs.

This Hackathon will be organized by Bethlehem University in cooperation with Bethlehem Municipality, Municipality of Turin, VIS, and The Salesian Technical School.

Event Tentative Schedule:

  • Day 1: from 11 am until 6:00 pm (Thursday – 28/11/2019)
    Location: Bethlehem University- Furno Hall + Auditorium

  • Day 2: from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm (Friday – 29/11/2019)
    Location: Bethlehem University- Auditorium

  • Day 3 from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm (Saturday – 30/11/2019)
    Location: Bethlehem University- Auditorium

ACM Palestinian Collegiate Programming Contest 2019

The Software Engineering Department team consisted of Sami Hammoudeh, Ramiz Rizqallah, and Maan Ibrigheeth participated in the ACM Palestinian Collegiate Programming Contest which was held in the Palestinian Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology in Ramallah on Monday, 11 November 2019. The team qualified to participate in The 2019 Arab and Africa Collegiate Programming Championship which will be held in Egypt on 29 November 2019. The team was supervised by Ms. Sherin Hazboun. It is worth mentioning that this is the second consecutive year that Bethlehem University qualifies for this Championship.
