Tickets for the Fundraising Gala Dinner, which will be held on Friday, 29 November 2019, at 7:30 pm at Nissan Banqueting Hall, Bethlehem, are available now at the Advancement Office.

The cost of a ticket for Faculty/ Staff and their partners is 150 NIS.
The cost of a ticket for guests is 200 NIS.

Department of Physical and Occupational Therapy

 

Awareness Activity

On Thursday, 17 October 2019, third-year physiotherapy students visited several schools in Bethlehem, Hebron, and Jerusalem in order to raise awareness of physiotherapy: concept, roles, and fields. The students also offered some physiotherapy advice and activities including the proper way to sit and study, how to exercise safely, the examination of posture and common posture problems, physical activities, and more. This activity is one of a series of educational activities that are done through the "Teaching and Presentation Skills" (PHTH 330) course, taught by Ms. Manar Jaber.

 

Wheelchair Distribution 

On Wednesday, 16 October 2019, the physiotherapy students participated in a wheelchair distribution at Nur Shams Refugee Camp in Tukaram and Jalazone Refugee Camp in Ramallah. Eight children with disabilities were given customized wheelchairs at Nur Shams Camp. Another five children with disabilities who need wheelchairs at Jalazone Camp were assessed through proper measurement and students identified the individual needs of each child. This is the second wheelchair distribution to centers funded by ABCD organization - UK, implemented by Mr. Richard Stepan - Wheelchair Angels International, and coordinated by Ms. Manar Jaber - BU.

Dean of Students Office

 

Debate Program Workshop

Assistant to the Dean of Students Mai Jaber participated in the evaluation workshop organized by Filistinyyat organization in Amman Jordan from 19 to 23 October 2019. The workshop was held following the completion of the debate tournament, which was organized by Filistinyyat organization in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and nine Palestinian universities in October 2019. Nine student activities coordinators participated in the workshop in addition to representatives from the Student Activities Department in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The workshop included an evaluation of the debate program that was applied in the Palestinian Universities during the past five years. It also included discussions about the debate training, judging criteria, suggestions, and recommendations for the coming years.

 

A Solidarity Pause With the Lebanese Prisoner George Abdallah

Under the supervision of the Dean of Students Office, the Progressive Labor Front in cooperation with the Student Senate organized a solidarity pause with the Lebanese prisoner George Abdallah, who has been in French prisons for 36 years for his involvement in the Palestinian resistance. Abdallah completed his detention duration but he was not released. The students affirmed their solidarity with the prisoner Abdallah and with all the Palestinian prisoners and stressed the importance of national unity.

 

Intellectual gathering about: “Palestinian Women's Movements: Reaction or Continuity”?

Ahdaf group from the Social Activations Unit in the Dean of Students Office in cooperation with Dr. Ferdous Abed Rabbo organized an intellectual gathering titled “Palestinian Women's Movements: Reaction or Continuity?" The role and objectives of women's movements in the face of violence against women were mentioned. It was emphasized that women were never a reaction but an integral part of the movements.

 

Cultural Competition

Under the supervision of the Dean of Students Office, the Student Senate organized a cultural competition on Thursday, 24 October 2019, at the cafeteria. The competition included meaningful cultural questions and a number of symbolic prizes were distributed to the winners.
