Summer School in the Netherlands

In June, two senior Physical Therapy students attended summer school at Hanze University in the Netherlands for three weeks. The course focused on “Global Health and Quantified Self”, where the students attended insightful lectures, presentations, meetings, and field trips. The students did experimental studies and were trained to use technology in medical matters. This is the second time the physical therapy program offers summer school for their students in cooperation with Hanze University.

Library Director & Team

As the academic year 2018-2019 comes to a close, the Library Team and I take this opportunity to thank Rebecca Calaor, who served in different capacities in the University Library, for her unconditional services. Rebecca, a member of the Teresian Association, has served Bethlehem University for more than two decades, having started her professional stint in September 1991. She has assumed various posts such as Deputy Director and the current post as Librarian-in-charge of Journal/Periodical Services. She was also heavily involved in mentoring student-assistants through the years as well as serving actively in the Library Liaison Team in dialogue with different faculty representatives. We wish Rebecca well as she ends her service at Bethlehem University this year, and we are grateful for her unwavering availability as well as for her professionalism.

To replace Rebecca and to assume her post as Library-Staff-in-charge of Journal/Periodical Services, is Miral Nasser, BU’13, MICAD’16. Miral is also one of the members of the Teaching Team who handles the Library Skills Course (Computer Module) for incoming freshmen. We wish Miral a fruitful service in the University Library.

We welcome Ghada Hadweh, BU’14, as she assumes the post of Secretary to the Library Director, taking the place of Miral Nasser, at the start of the academic year 2019-2020. Best wishes as you break new ground, Ghada!
