Clinical Placement News - Physiotherapy Program

Last week, senior physiotherapy students finished their clinical placement and are ready to graduate. During their placement, they focused on community outreach. Additionally, the students explored using evidence-based patient care. Various topics were presented, corresponding to the needs of each clinical setting as follows:

  • At the Amira Basma Centre, students gave a lecture to the rehabilitation team about the effectiveness of using “Thera-suit method intensive therapy” and the current evidence-based practice about this approach.

  • At Bethlehem University, students set up booths to raise awareness concerning “Text Neck Syndrome” and “Interverbal Disc Disease.” Additionally, the students provided advice on how to quell these issues.

  • While at Caritas Baby Hospital, students prepared educational material that will be used by families of children with Down Syndrome.

  • Students visited an UNRWA school and raised awareness about both flat and high arched feet. They examined first grade students and offered recommendations to combat foot issues caused by either a flat or high arch.
