Bethlehem University Scholar Advances in Understanding of ESG’s Role in Financial Growth

Bethlehem University recognizes the significant academic contributions of Mr. Naji Anton Alslaibi, Director of Institutional Affairs,  a PhD candidate in Accounting and Finance, whose recent research offers critical insights into sustainable finance in emerging markets. Co-authored with  Dr. Nasser Abdelkarim from Arab American University, Mr. Alslaibi’s research was published by Springer in the peer-reviewed journal “Discover Sustainability,” under the title: “The Power of ESG Factors in Driving Financial Growth: Insights from Palestine,” 

This paper examines the influence of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors on financial growth, specifically within the Palestinian context. The research provides valuable evidence on the importance of ESG considerations for businesses and investors operating in regions where sustainability concerns are increasingly shaping economic policy and corporate strategies.Mr. Alslaibi and Dr. Abdelkarim contribute to the global discourse on sustainable finance, demonstrating that ESG principles have significant implications across diverse economic landscapes—not just in advanced markets.

In addition to his academic contributions, the CFA Institute awarded Mr. Alslaibi the Certificate in ESG Investing. This credential further affirms his expertise in sustainable finance, equipping him with specialized knowledge of how ESG factors influence investment strategies and corporate performance.
