Student-Assistants Meet for the New Academic Year

Seven student-assistants met on Thursday, the 6th of October to attend the Library Orientation at the garden level of the newly-renovated Library.

The Library Director, Ms.  Mellie, welcomed the students and thanked them for their efforts and for demonstrating how to balance their studies with their library duties. Discipline was another subject Ms. Mellie discussed with the student-assistants emphasizing its importance in order to be successful in life.

Mai, one of our student-assistants, shared her experience saying she respects herself for the balancing act of working and studying at the same time. By opting to work, Mai said she is doing what she likes and enjoys to do and not what she is obliged to do.

Using a power-point presentation, Ms. Juana Juha introduced the Library staff to the student- assistants and oriented them to the various floors and facilities, work stations and offices of the newly-refurbished Library. Following Juana was Mr. Mike Hazboun who showed a video about our new technology and explained the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Technology) system, to enable the student-assistants to help other students in using it.

At the end of the meeting, gifts of appreciation were given to each student assistant as an incentive for their fine work and spirit of cooperation. Together with the Library Team they enjoyed some refreshments at the café-library.
