Deputy Director for Administration at PIBS

Job Title: Deputy Director for Administration, Palestine Institute of Biodiversity & Sustainability (PIBS)
Status:    Full-Time regular contract
Starting date: 1 February 2025

Job Summary:

The Deputy Director for Administration is responsible for the administrative operations of Bethlehem University’s Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability. This involves collaborating with the Deputy Director for the Garden and Museum section and the Deputy Director for the Academic section. The position holder oversees all daily operational aspects of the Institute, leading, managing, and supervising its activities and ensuring proper operational controls, administrative, and reporting procedures. The Deputy Director reports to and assists the Director of the PIBS to promote the sustainable growth of the Institute (a fast-paced growing Institute, see website palestinenature.org, especially the annual reports) making sure that structures and systems are effective for the growth of the Institute to ensure it fulfills its vision of sustainable human and natural communities. The Deputy Director is expected to engage in hands-on work as a team member and to lead by example.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Developmental Studies, Public Policy, International Relations, Business Management, or relevant fields.
  • Work experience in management including projects’ report writing.
  • Solid understanding and experience in financial and human resource management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work within an evolving organization.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English.
  • Excellent communication skills and public relations.
  • Fundraising experience including the ability to write proposals, and manage budgets, etc.

Preferred:

  • Management certificate or degree.
  • Project management for large projects
  • Administrative experience
