About the Center
The Italian Language Certification Center is newly established (2024), following the signing of an MOU between Bethlehem University and the central office of the Dante Alighieri Society in Rome, with the support of the Italian Consulate General in Jerusalem.
The Dante Alighieri Society promotes the Italian language and culture worldwide and is present in over 60 countries. It organizes the PLIDA tests for Italian language certification. Thanks to the agreement with the Rome office, it is now possible to take the exams at Bethlehem University, the first and only official Italian language certification center in all of Palestine.
The center allows anyone interested to obtain an Italian language certification directly in Palestine, without having to incur expensive travel to other exam locations abroad.
PLIDA Exams Information
PLIDA exams certify proficiency in Italian as a foreign language and test the ability to use the language at various levels of complexity, from level A1 to level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference.
It is possible to take the chosen level exam four times a year, according to the schedule set by the central office, which is the same worldwide.
Each candidate can choose the preferred level, and passing the previous level is not a prerequisite.
