Meet the Chair

Welcome to the site of the Department of Physics at Bethlehem University. The role of Physics in the development of technology and industry is unquestionable. Therefore, the need for an adequate education and research in Physics at a university level is crucial to our community.

The Department of Physics at Bethlehem University is fulfilling its duties toward the community to advance technology by offering a specific knowledge in Physics, required for students to take an active role in the development of our country after their graduation.

The Department of Physics is one of the first departments to be established at Bethlehem University in the early ‘80s. Students registered in major of physics are introduced to courses considered necessary in any advanced university study in this field. Latest methods of teaching are used to simulate problems in Physics in addition to advanced labs well equipped, so students can carry out experiments to fully understand the theory taught in classes.

Research is one of the pillars that the Physics Department has developed since its foundation. Now, research is mainly carried out in renewable energy and materials science with computational support. Nanotechnology is one of the fields in which the department is interested, as it represents the future for many applications in various fields such as medicine and electronics.

At the Department of Physics at Bethlehem University, we are ambitious for expansion and international cooperation and open for any suggestions in order to expand our Department. We have a vital goal, which is to achieve excellence in teaching as well as in research, a goal that we hope to achieve with sponsorships and with the support of those who desire to advance science in our community and the whole world.
