Mission and Objectives
The mission of the Faculty of Education at Bethlehem University is to prepare teachers who are knowledgeable and competent in leading the teaching /learning process in the context of the “school of the community.
In Encouraging the candidates to explore and reflect on the cultural heritage of the Palestinian society, its educational reality in the different stages of its socio-economic and political development, the Faculty of education aims to promote its candidates’ overall personality to be open, responsible, capable of keeping the dynamic exchange between the individual and his/her society as a basis for ensuring the continuous development of their society.
The Faculty of Education strives to achieve its mission through its different programs that are characterized by:
- Recognizing the developmental nature of the learner in the early, middle and late childhood.
- Ensuring the reciprocity in the teaching-learning process by using the participative approaches in the educational setting.
- Integrating the learning resulting from the interactive experiences of the teacher, learner and the community in a continuously developing curriculum using the action research methodology as an approach in developing the candidate’s personal, professional, and technical competencies.
The Faculty aspires to graduate educators who recognize the existing rules and regulations; who conform to the highest ethical standards of their profession; who respect the Palestinian values and traditions in a spirit of openness and tolerance; and who are able to participate in leading the process of development within their culture and in the world.
