Standarization of critical care Nursing Course in the Palestinian Universities
Ms. Etaf Maqboul participated in the workshop that was organized by Juzoor Foundation, ministry of health and the ministry of higher education in Rammallah on Tuesday 14/3/2017. This workshop was attended by the teaching and the clinical faculty who teach the critical care nursing course in the Bachelor nursing programs in the Palestinian universities.
The purpose of this workshop was to have a follow up on this course. Ms. Etaf is in the technical committee that worked on the modification and the standardization of this course curriculum among the Palestinian university nursing programs. She presented the progress of this course in Bethlehem university in the last two semesters where she shared BU experience in implementing this standardized course and highlighted the strong points and the other points that need more modification in both the theoretical and the clinical components.
Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences
The Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences offer four distinct programs leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy. The Nursing program is also offered on the University’s off campus site in Qubeibeh. These programs prepare professional graduates who can work with a multidisciplinary health team, clients, and their families to meet the client’s health needs and to upgrade the quality of health care in various health settings. For further specialization the Faculty offers Higher Diploma Programs in Midwifery, Neonatal Nursing, Emergency Nursing and Oncology Nursing. These programs provide students with advance knowledge and skills in these specialized nursing fields to meet the demand of health institutions and to improve the health status of the Palestinian people.
