As part of the Faculty Development Program initiated by the Academic Innovative Hub (AIH), Bethlehem University faculty participated in a transformative workshop led by Dr. Rabiha Elyan/Alayasa, Assistant Professor at the Department of Early Childhood Education, and Ms. Paola Handal, Co-Director of AIH, focusing on course planning and instructional design.
The session began with a review of the Teaching and Learning Policy, where participants critically analyzed current course outline components and identified areas for enhancement. Faculty members then explored the backward design model, emphasizing defining end goals, designing assessments, and aligning learning activities. This approach reinforces Bethlehem University’s commitment to transformative education, fostering meaningful learning experiences and shaping a brighter future for our academic community.
Additionally, during the TechEd sessions led by Ms. Tina Hazboun, Co-Director of AIH, faculty practiced using Forums to enhance online class discussions. These sessions introduced strategies for leveraging Forums to support student self-directed learning, the Flipped Classroom approach, peer learning, and evaluation. By embracing these technological advancements, Bethlehem University continues to create dynamic and inclusive learning environments that inspire collaboration and intellectual curiosity.
Bethlehem University deeply values the contributions of its dedicated faculty, whose continuous professional development strengthens the University’s mission. These workshops not only refine teaching methodologies but also reinforce the University’s role as a leader in academic excellence, community engagement, and student success.
