On Thursday, 12 December 2024, Bethlehem University’s Zbierski Library hosted an inspiring student activity titled “The Magic of Art”, with 12 students in attendance. The event aimed to ignite creativity and deepen appreciation for art as a powerful form of self-expression.
The session began with a warm welcome from Ms. Vera Koussa, Head of the English Technical Services at the Library, who introduced the talented first-year student and budding artist, Sadeel Younis.
Sadeel shared her personal artistic journey, revealing that her passion for art nurtured by her mother, a renowned Palestinian artist whose works gained recognition in Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. Sadeel began drawing at the age of seven, under the guidance of her mother, who had to give up her art to support her family.
The session also featured an intriguing discussion on the art of Leonardo da Vinci, focusing on his iconic masterpiece, Mona Lisa. Sadeel emphasized that art is a powerful form of personal expression, reflecting emotions, ideas, and experiences.
In addition to the discussion, Sadeel shared valuable tips and techniques for aspiring artists, encouraging students to explore their creativity and pursue their artistic passions.
The event ended with lively discussions and questions, leaving the students inspired and eager to embark on their own artistic journeys.
Library Director, Elizabeth Dsouza, closed the session by expressing heartfelt thanks to Sadeel Younis for her motivational presentation and to the students for the active participation
A heartfelt thanks to Sana Salsa and Vera Koussa for their constant support.
