Bethlehem University Software Engineering Team Qualifies for Africa and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship (ACPC)

Bethlehem University is proud to announce that one of our Software Engineering teams has earned a prestigious qualification for the Africa and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship (ACPC), following a stellar performance at the Palestinian Collegiate Programming Contest (PCPC) held on October 24 at Birzeit University.

The qualifying team—comprising Ihab Maali, Hasan Zawahra, and Rama Jboor—demonstrated exceptional problem-solving abilities, technical proficiency, and teamwork, securing their place in this highly competitive regional contest. Their success highlights the strength of our Software Engineering program and the caliber of students we are proud to nurture.

In addition to the qualifying team, three other Software Engineering teams from Bethlehem University also participated in the PCPC, showcasing their resilience, creativity, and dedication to tackling complex coding challenges:

– Team 2: Tala Faraj, Momen Almohtaseb, Mohammed Sowaity
– Team 3: Mohammad Jubran, Nicola Rabee, Sami Shahwan
– Team 4: Hussain Shakarnah, Tonay Qabaar, Salma Abu Odeh

Competitions like the PCPC and ACPC provide an invaluable platform for students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world problems under time pressure. They sharpen critical skills such as algorithm design, coding efficiency, and collaboration—key attributes in today’s rapidly evolving tech landscape. Participation in these contests also fosters innovation and pushes students to think creatively, preparing them for future careers in software engineering, data science, and other technology fields.

Bethlehem University is immensely proud of all our participating teams for their commitment, hard work, and perseverance. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ihab, Hasan, and Rama for qualifying, and we eagerly look forward to watching their continued success as they represent our university at the regional level.

Their achievements are a testament to the power of learning, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence. Best of luck to the entire team as they take on this exciting new challenge!
