On Thursday, 9 August 2024, Bethlehem University awarded the Mrs. Widad Abu Dayyah Award for Academic Excellence in Hotel Management and Tourism for the year 2024 to the student Joanna Abdullah Muhammad Al-Jawarish, who excelled academically in the Bachelor of Hotel Management program at the Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management.
Jawarish achieved the highest cumulative GPA among her female peers at the end of the graduation semester for the current academic year 2023-2024, thereby fulfilling the award’s criteria.
Brother Hernán Santos, the Vice Chancellor of the University, presented the award to Jawarish in the presence of Father Dr. Iyad Twal, the Executive Vice President.
In previous years, this award was typically presented during the annual graduation ceremony, which has been postponed this year due to the current circumstances affecting the country, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
