On Saturday, 13 July 2024, Br. Hernán Santos, Vice Chancellor of Bethlehem University, along with the members of the Executive Council and some Student Ambassadors, welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Sant’Egidio Community in Rome, Italy. Led by Dr. Claudio Betti, personal assistant to the president of the community and accompanied by Monsignor Ambrogio Spreafico, the Bishop of Frosinone, and representatives from various European communities, the delegation expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people and the Church of the Holy Land.
This momentous gathering symbolized the convergence of two organizations deeply committed to service and the upliftment of marginalized communities worldwide. The Sant’Egidio Community, renowned for its global efforts in supporting the poor and marginalized, brought inspiration and a shared vision of justice, compassion, and unity to Bethlehem University.
During their visit, discussions centered around opportunities for collaboration and support.
