From the Dean

The faculty was established in 1973 as the faculty of Science.  Since the beginning of the academic year 2024 – 2025, it is called the faculty of “Applied Sciences, Technology, and Engineering”.

The department of Applied Sciences offers two programs, namely the program in Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLSC), and the program in Pharmaceutical and Industrial Chemistry (PINC).

The Department of Technology offers two programs.  The program in Computational Simulation in Sciences & Engineering (CSSE), and the program in Software Engineering (SWER).

The department of Engineering offers a program in Sustainable Energy Engineering.

The faculty also hosts three major research centers: The Hereditary Research Laboratory, the UNESCO Biotechnology Center, and the Water and Soil Environmental Research Unit.

Since its inception, Bethlehem University sought academic excellence in an attempt to cope with scientific developments worldwide.  Based on each program, laboratory sessions are an essential and integral part of the student’s academic training.

In order to expedite registration for students, the Faculty of Science has designed paradigms for both regular and Intensive English students. Each student is usually assisted by his/her academic advisor.

We pride ourselves on being a ‘student-centered’ university, where we strive for excellence in teaching.  The success of our students is an indicator of such excellence.  Faculty members have a solid commitment to research – based teaching. This will yield well-prepared students, ready to face the challenges of a future career in Science disciplines, and inspires them for graduate studies.

Our science students are given a taste of what research is all about by getting them involved in mini-research projects. They have to carry out research on a certain topic and finally submit a written report to be followed by an oral presentation (i.e. seminar).  Some of these presentations were of high quality and were subsequently presented at Conferences or submitted for publication in peer-reviewed journals.  I invite you to visit our website for more information on the available programs.
