At Bethlehem University, we know that today’s nursing student will one day be responsible for the health care a loved one, which is why we do not compromise when it comes to improving the quality of education in this field and do our best to provide as many opportunities as we can for our students.
In continuing this positive trend and by working hard to making connections abroad, Ms. Mariam Awad, Dean of the Nursing faculty at Bethlehem University, in cooperation with the faculty of medicine of the University of Palermo – Italy, have established a joint agreement that would provide an opportunity for select students from the nursing program at Bethlehem University to attend clinical training sessions at Palermo University.
On the 6th of December 2011, two agreements were signed between Bethlehem University and Palermo University. Br. Peter Bray, Vice Chancellor of Bethlehem University and Professor Roberto Lagalla, rector of the University of Palermo signed a Cultural Cooperation framework agreement.
Subsequently, the main agreement between the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Palmero and the faculty of nursing of the University of Bethlehem was signed by both Ms. Mariam Awad and Professor Roberto Lagalla. It is indeed only the first step, one of many, to further enrich this great program, and help advance the knowledge of the students of both universities, culturally and academically.
Also attending the signing agreement were several faculty members from the Nursing department and Ms. Rossella Gasparro, a major supporter of the agreement. A musician and psychologist, Ms. Rosella trains at the Edward Said foundation and always looks forward to new projects and ways to support Bethlehem University.
