Bethlehem University hosted on Tuesday, 17 September 2019, the Knights and Ladies of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem (EOHSJ)- USA Middle Atlantic Lieutenancy and EOHSJ- USA Eastern Lieutenancy.
Her Excellency Valencia Yvonne Camp, DGCH, Lieutenant of EOHSJ- USA Middle Atlantic Lieutenancy led a group of 45 people including Michael J. Ruck, Sr, KSG, KGCHS and Lady Wendy Ruck. Her Excellency Vicki Downey, Lieutenant of EOHSJ- USA Eastern Lieutenancy led a group of 23 people joined by Rev. Monsignor Tomasz Grysa, First Counsellor at the Apostolic Delegation of the Holy See in Jerusalem. Both groups thrilled the University with their presence as they toured briefly the campus, interacting with students and staff.
The groups were greeted by Brother Neil Kieffe; Mr. Isaac Sahhar, Assistant Vice President for Advancement; Ms. Shahinda Nassar, Development Officer; and Ms. Amjaad Musleh, the Guest Relations Officer.
H.E. Lady Valencia met with the recipient of the Lady Rose Benté Lee Endowed Scholarship, Rawand Awad, and H.E. Vicki Downey met with the recipient of the Cardinal Egan Endowed Scholarship, Carlos Nassar. Both students wrote thank you cards to acknowledge the scholarship support they receive from the lieutenancies.
A group photo of the Mid Atlantic Lieutenancy was taken at the construction site of the Cardinal Foley building which they supported with a gift of $1.5 million. This gift was made during the time when Michael J. Ruck, Sr, KSG, KGCHS was the lieutenant.
Bethlehem University thanks both groups for taking the time to visit the campus and being a part of its mission to create a better future in the Holy Land.
