Manos Unidas Middle East Team Representatives visit Bethlehem University
Ms. Africa Marsillach and Ms. Mercedes Carvajal of the Middle East Team of Manos Unidas visited Bethlehem University on November 1, 2016. Manos Unidas is a Catholic Spanish NGO that works through community initiatives to combat poverty around the world. The delegation was welcomed by Br. Peter Bray, FSC, EdD, Vice Chancellor of Bethlehem University, Br. Stephen Tuohy, FSC, Vice President for Advancement, and Mr. Demitri Awwad, Guest Relations Officer.
As part of the visit, they watched a brief video about the University and had a discussion with student ambassadors. Following a tour of campus, they met with the Bethlehem University Nursing and Health Sciences Faculty and learned of the existing Nursing and Health Science programs in: Clinical Simulation, Occupational Therapy, Oncology and Palliative Care, Midwifery, and Physiotherapy.
Manos Unidas representatives expressed their interest in future cooperation with Bethlehem University. Br. Peter Bray affirmed to the visitors that with their cooperation, Bethlehem University will be able to continue to be an Oasis of Peace and a Beacon of Hope to the people of the Holy Land.
