This committee was initiated by the Program Coordinator, Ms. Amal Abu Nijmeh, and the students of the program from different cohorts.  The audience feedback was very positive and they recommended repeating similar gatherings and meetings in the future.

Some of the audienceThe gathering resulted in a number of recomendations to the Faculty of Nursing and the hospital administrations, an important component to developing this profession and the care neonatals get in hospitals. They recomended that the Nursing educators provide presentations and training courses on development care methods in NICU departments for all health team members, and to focus on development care method in courses offered by universities.

Neonatal Nursing is a relatively new specialty in comparison with adult health, midwifery, or other areas of nursing. It aims to provide staff nurses with advanced level of knowledge and skills needed to provide comprehensive nursing care to special and critically ill newborns and their families.
