Zbierski Library came alive today with curiosity and conversation during an engaging student activity titled “How Voltage Shapes Us”, led by Mennatallah Thweib.
With 14 student enthusiastic participants, the session delved into the fascinating world of bioelectricity in humans, exploring how voltage – yes, electricity! – influences our mood, memory, and mental health.
From Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) that rebalances brain voltage to help treat depression, to Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (TDCS) that can enhance focus and memory, the group engaged in lively discussions on how science is quite literally rewiring our understanding of the brain.
Library Director Ms. Elizabeth Dsouza warmly welcomed Mennatallah and the participants, and later expressed heartfelt appreciation to her for the excellent presentation, as well as to the participants for their enthusiastic engagement.
It was truly an electrifying hour of learning and sharing – one that sparked new thoughts and connections!
