Professor Gino Fontana’s Visit to Bethlehem University: A Focus on Human Rights and AI

On Thursday, 3 April 2025, Bethlehem University had the honor of hosting Professor Gino Fontana, a renowned researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence and its societal impact. Professor Fontana, based at Università Telematica Pegaso in Italy, delivered an insightful lecture on the vital intersection of Human Rights and Artificial Intelligence, a topic of growing relevance as AI technology continues to evolve.

In his engaging presentation, Professor Fontana addressed the ethical challenges posed by AI, emphasizing the need to protect human rights as AI becomes more integrated into daily life.

Accompanying Professor Fontana were two distinguished Knights of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre in Italy, Dr. Sir Angelo Marciano and Dr. Sir Vincenzo Puglia, whose presence added a layer of distinction to the visit. The university’s leadership, including Brother Jack Curran, Vice President for Advancement, and Dr. Fadi Kattan, Executive Vice President, welcomed the guests with warm introductions.
