Zbierski Library Hosts Student-Led Session on Disability Challenges

The Zbierski Library buzzed with energy on Thursday, 27 March 2025, as students gathered for an eye-opening session titled “The Hidden Challenges of Students with Disabilities”.

Library Director Ms. Elizabeth Dsouza set the tone with a warm welcome before introducing Alamin Sanad, an inspiring student who didn’t just present a topic—he embodied it. As a person with a physical disability, Alamin spoke from lived experience, shedding light on the unseen struggle’s students with disabilities face daily. His dynamic PowerPoint presentation, and interactive engagement captivated the audience, fostering greater awareness and empathy.

As the session concluded, Vera Koussa expressed heartfelt gratitude to Alamin for his courage and compelling insights. She also thanked the students for their enthusiasm and engagement

A special note of appreciation to Library staff Sana Salsa and Vera Koussa for their invaluable support.

This session was more than a discussion; it was a powerful reminder that barriers exist only where determination falters.
