Bethlehem University’s Academic Innovation Hub (AIH) Faculty Development Program continues to equip faculty members with essential skills to enhance teaching and learning. This week’s workshop, led by Dr. Rabiha Elyan/Alayasa, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education, focused on integrating cognitive, skills-based, and attitudinal learning domains into student assessments. Faculty engaged in discussions on creating holistic evaluation methods that provide a more accurate measure of student achievement.
A key component of the session was the development of effective rubrics, ensuring clear performance expectations, transparency, and fairness in grading. Faculty members collaborated on refining assessment strategies to enhance student learning across all disciplines.
In addition, the TechEd session, led by Ms. Tina Hazboun, Co-Director of the AIH, provided faculty with hands-on training in utilizing the university’s Learning Management System (LMS) for grading. This training emphasized the importance of grading transparency and alignment with the university’s assessment policies.
These workshops reaffirm Bethlehem University’s commitment to continuous professional development, equipping faculty with innovative tools to improve student learning experiences.
