Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg is offering three (3) ERASMUS+ student study opportunities during the Winter Semester 2025/26 (FALL 2025) for a maximum duration of seven (7) months in Germany.

- BA students majoring in Education under the Department of Curriculum & Pedagogy Programs from 2nd to 4th year
- Current MA in Education Students from the Creative Pedagogies & Community Practices Program

Certification & Transfer of Courses
- For BA Candidates (currently enrolled): Depending on compatibility, some courses might be endorsed and transferred to their transcript upon return.
- For MA students and Graduates: An official certification will be issued separately by the Faculty of Education.
Keynotes
- Fall Semester six (6) months, starting on October 1st, 2025 and ends on March 31st, 2026.
- German Language Course one (1) additional month (optional), starting on September 1st, 2025, for four (4) weeks.
- The total mobility period for successful applicants can reach up to seven (7) months.
German Language Course: (Optional) Candidates opting for German language courses can participate in an intensive program (free of charge) before the semester. Therefore, candidates can apply for up to seven (7) months under the allocated Erasmus budget if they choose to take the language course as an option. Without the German language course, the duration is reduced to six (6) months. Students can take part in a one-month free intensive German language course as an accompanying course during the semester. In all cases, participants need to check the rental status and cover any additional month’s housing rent independently.
Housing and Accommodation
Candidates should apply individually for dormitory accommodation.
Housing deposits and rental prepayments are around €1000 and must be transferred by the application deadline to guarantee accommodation, which includes a €400 caution deposit; the remainder covers the first month’s rent and part of the second month’s rent. The monthly rent can reach up to €400 (range starts from €250 depending on room/apartment size and equipment.

Eligible applicants: Previously or currently enrolled as a full-time student at Bethlehem University with a B2 level English Language supported with a certificate as proof.
Looking for:
- Highly motivated with good academic standing (cumulative GPA and Major GPA of 2.5 and above)
- The minimum course load required at Würzburg is 30 ECTS, which equals 15 US credits at BU. (Please work on developing your application with your direct academic advisor, Department Chairperson, or Faculty Dean.)
- An open mind to new cultures.
- Willingness to follow Würzburg culture and rules.
- Capable of financially covering any additional cost before and during travel and be ready to cover pre-reservation costs.
Financial responsibilities
- Würzburg will cover the total tuition fees.
- Würzburg will contribute to the flight price as explained in the table below, excluding accommodation, with monthly pocket money of 900 EUR/month during the entire hosting period.
- Costs of living: approx. € 900 / per month (depending on participant lifestyle and apartment rent).
- The deposit for international students will not be less than € 850; however, for students with Social Top-Up, there is the possibility that students could deposit € 250 only. 750 EUR can be deposited from their scholarship in advance if they sign the Grant Agreement on time and send it to the Host University via post office in Würzburg.
Applicants should be prepared for additional costs such as:
- Visa Fees
- Travel Costs
- Dormitory Prepayment
- First days in Würzburg (money is needed beforehand)
- Participants must have adequate health insurance coverage (e.g. European health insurance card).
Enrollment procedure
Step one:
a) Check the BU Students Exchange Policy.
b) Visit the Host University Course Catalogue, you can access it here.
The following course equivalencies have been accredited by the Faculty of Education:
- BU Course PHIL303 (Ethics of Life) vs. Würzburg Course Introduction to Ethics and Philosophy, Diversity in Context: Ethical Dilemmas.
- BU Course PHIL302 (Philosophy) vs. Würzburg Course Ethics, Philosophy, and Theology.
- BU Course EDUC326 (Educational Research) vs. Würzburg Course Scientific Writing and Research Design.
- If the student has an Elective Course in their Program, then any other course taken at Würzburg University could be counted as an Elective course that they have not taken yet.
c) In addition, prepare and attach the following documents:
- An official transcript of all college courses taken. You can get the transcript from the Registrar’s Office.
- TOFEL / ITP or iBT Test / GMAT /IELTS Exam or equivalent as a certificate that you have B2 English command or above).
- Motivational letter (one-page minimum 250 words in English)
Step Two (for current students):
With the assistance of your Home University Academic Supervisor, fill out these forms and submit them by hand / electronically as a PDF file to the Faculty of Education / Secretary to the Dean of Education or via email to the following email: tissa@bethlehem.edu before the announced deadline:

Step 1: Visit the External Academic Relations Forms.
Step 2: Download and fill the Transferable Courses Before Mobility (FORM 01).
Step 3: Ensure you receive an official email that you delivered your application on time.
Step Three:
Once the Faculty of Education Dean nominates the successful candidates, an official support nomination document will be issued by the External Academic Relations Office and shared with the Host University. Later, the Host University will guide you to fill out your application forms and submit them online.
