On February 10, 2025, fourteen 9th grade students, from College Des Freres School visited Zbierski Library and Turathuna, George Nasra Center for Palestinian Heritage for a meaningful and immersive learning experience.
Ms. Mirna Zougbhi and Ms. Sana Salsa from the library staff warmly welcomed the students at the entrance, and Library Director Ms. Elizabeth Dsouza greeted them upon their arrival. Ms. Mirna Zougbhi then introduced the students to the library’s services on the ground floor.
At Turathuna Center, Ms. Mirna Zougbhi and Ms. Sana Salsa guided the students through the exhibits, highlighting heritage artifacts and the missile that struck Bethlehem University in 2002. The visit also included screenings of two films: Old Bethlehem and The Abandoned Village of Lifta.
- Old Bethlehem – a documentary showcasing the history, culture, and traditions of Bethlehem in the past.
- The Abandoned Village of Lifta – a documentary that explores the history and story of Lifta, a Palestinian village that was depopulated in 1948 and remains largely abandoned.
The screenings were intended to enhance the students’ understanding of Palestinian heritage and history.
Before concluding their visit, the students were introduced to the IT services on the garden level.
Accompanied by their teachers, Ms. Waad Kharoufeh and Ms. Nicole Tawil, the students had an enriching and memorable visit. The library staff extends their heartfelt appreciation to College Des Freres School for making this visit possible.
