AIH Explores Service-Learning in Faculty Development Session

This week, the Academic Innovation Hub (AIH) hosted the third session of the Faculty Development Plan, focusing on the transformative potential of Service-Learning (SL) and Community Engagement. Led by Mr. Elias Hazin, the session provided faculty members with key insights into SL concepts and real-world applications in higher education.

By integrating Service-Learning into their courses, faculty can create impactful, student-centered learning experiences that enhance academic engagement while fostering a stronger connection between students and their communities.

The discussion was further enriched by valuable contributions from Ms. Ruba Ayyad, Mr. Layth Awwad, Dr. Hanan Saca-Hazboun, Ms. Amal Abu Nijmeh-Fakhouri, Ms. Fatmeh Madani-Hammad, and Dr. Bilal Salameh. Their shared experiences highlighted how SL can bridge academic learning with real-world challenges, encouraging students to develop a deeper sense of civic responsibility.
