Bethlehem University Participates in Caritas Jerusalem Joint Partners Conference

Bethlehem University was honored to participate in the Joint Partners Conference organized by Caritas Jerusalem on 11 December 2024. The event, held at Casa Nova Guest House in Bethlehem, was conducted under the patronage of His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and President of Caritas Jerusalem.

The university was represented by Rev. Fr. Iyad Twal, Ph.D., Executive Vice President; Brother Jack Curran, FSC, Ph.D., KHS, Vice President for Advancement; and Ms. Shahinda Nassar, Manager of the Advancement Office.

During the conference, Caritas Jerusalem presented its critical efforts to alleviate suffering and restore dignity to those affected by the ongoing war in Gaza and its repercussions in the West Bank. Bethlehem University joined international partners, government representatives, and other key stakeholders as Caritas Jerusalem launched its 2025 Emergency Appeal and presented its strategic plan for 2025-2030, reaffirming a collective commitment to aid and support for the community.

On the second day of the conference, Bethlehem University welcomed the Caritas International Board delegation with a warm reception led by Rev. Fr. Iyad, and Brother Jack. Visitors toured the campus, including the Chapel of the Divine Child, and learned about the university’s role in empowering youth through education and vocational training.

As part of its ongoing collaboration with Caritas Jerusalem, Bethlehem University showcased three vocational training programs in the Institute of Hotel Management & Tourism funded by Caritas Spain.
