On Thursday, 28 November 2024, the Zbierski Library was abuzz with energy and enthusiasm as 16 students gathered for a captivating student-led activity titled “From Failure to Success.”
Ms. Sana Salsa, a library staff, warmly welcomed the group and introduced Fatima Altous, a first-year student, who led the hour-long session.
Fatima’s presentation, illustrated with an engaging PowerPoint, highlighted inspiring examples of individuals like Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, and Leonardo da Vinci. She explored the connection between hope and success, emphasizing practical steps such as:
- Setting clear and achievable goals.
- Identifying potential challenges and devising solutions.
- Regularly reviewing and adjusting plans.
- Staying motivated and committed.
- Celebrating small wins along the way.
Fatima also shared her personal experiences, including how she overcame challenges to succeed in her exams, making her insights relatable and impactful.
Ms. Elizabeth Dsouza, Library Director, facilitated the discussion by posing a thought-provoking question, encouraging students to share their own stories of overcoming failure. This led to an engaging and interactive session, where the students’ openness and freedom in discussing their experiences highlighted the closeness of the group and the strong relationships they shared with one another, creating a truly inspiring and supportive atmosphere.
Ms. Elizabeth closed the event with heartfelt gratitude to Fatima for her thoughtful and motivational presentation and to the students for their enthusiastic participation.
A heartfelt thanks to Sana Salsa and Vera Koussa for their support and fostering an engaging environment.
