Brother Jack Curran’s Heartfelt Visit with the Palestinian Students Scholarship Fund

On 07 October, Brother Jack Curran, Vice President for Advancement at Bethlehem University, had a truly special visit with Mr. Ali, the founder and executive director of the Palestinian Students Scholarship Fund (PSSF). The meeting was an opportunity to share stories, laughter, and a deep sense of purpose about the work both organizations do to support Palestinian students.

Mr. Ali spoke with great warmth about his experiences with everyone at Bethlehem University, expressing his sincere appreciation for the team’s dedication to the students. “These students are the future of Palestine,” he said with pride, recognizing the lasting impact education will have on the future of the country.

During the visit, Brother Jack and Mr. Ali shared a meal, with Brother Jack mentioning that the lamb’s neck was “almost as good as what I had last week in Hebron!” They were joined by Mr. Akram Zanayed, a PSSF board member, and his daughter, who plans to visit Palestine next year as part of a PSSF convention. Their conversation reflected not only their commitment to the students but also their deep concern for their homeland, always thinking of and feeling the pain of their Palestinian brothers and sisters during these difficult times.

Bethlehem University is deeply thankful to the PSSF Board and all the supporters who stand behind their mission.Through the efforts of the PSSF, they have taken on the responsibility of helping Palestinian students, especially during this challenging period. Their dedication to the cause, guided by the belief that “We Can & Must Take Care Of Our Own,” continues to make a vital difference for the future of Palestinian students and the entire community.

Since its founding, the PSSF has provided scholarships to over 500 Palestinian students, enabling them to pursue higher education at universities in Palestine and abroad. These scholarships have helped students from all backgrounds, including those from marginalized communities, to achieve their academic goals and contribute to the development of their country.

The PSSF is committed to providing ongoing support to its scholarship recipients, even after they graduate. This includes mentorship, career counseling, and networking opportunities. By investing in the education of Palestinian students, the PSSF is helping to build a brighter future for Palestine.
