Dr. Ahmed F. Fasfous is a highly accomplished Associate Professor in Neuropsychology at Bethlehem University, currently serving as the Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. His passion lies in cultural neuropsychology, a field dedicated to understanding the impact of cultural factors on the brain and its functions.
Dr. Fasfous holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Granada with a focus on Neuropsychology and a Master’s degree in the same field. His research experience extends globally, including positions at the University of Granada in Spain, a Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute in the USA, and a Visiting Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins University, USA.
Dr. Fasfous established the first neuropsychology lab in Palestine and founded the Master’s Program in Child Neuropsychology and Neurodevelopmental Disorders at Bethlehem University.
He is currently working on a project funded by the European Commission (Erasmus+) to establish a university center specializing in child neurodevelopment, which will be open to the local community to meet its needs. His commitment to improving the lives of others extends beyond academia, he worked as a clinical neuropsychologist at Al Mizan Hospital for 10 years.
Dr. Fasfous’ expertise is recognized worldwide. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Andalusian Society of Neuropsychology (SANP), a founding member of the European Consortium on Cross-Cultural Neuropsychology (ECCroN). He has supervised several doctoral dissertations and published numerous specialized research papers in the field of neuropsychology.
