As part of its mission to promote research, education, and environmental conservation—emphasizing the rich biodiversity of Palestine—the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability hosts weekly activities designed to raise environmental awareness among children and encourage positive behavioral changes.
On Friday, 13 September 2024, PIBS organized a special event focused on medicinal plants in its botanical garden, with a particular emphasis on rosemary. During this event, the children explored the diverse uses of rosemary, learning how it can be incorporated into cooking and its health benefits. They also had the chance to pick rosemary leaves and prepare them for use at home.
The children were encouraged to use this herb in innovative ways, such as making flavored water and engaging in fun crafting activities. This event inspired the children to take an interest in the plants around them and find various beneficial uses for them.
