The Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability (PIBS) at Bethlehem University is continuing its successful partnership with the Salesians of Don Bosco at the Cremisan Monastery. This ongoing series of activities aims to cultivate a spirit of environmental respect and care in young people.
Through immersive experiences in nature and engaging craft projects, the program fosters a connection with the natural world. Additionally, the initiative promotes healthy eating habits by educating participants about the benefits of organic agriculture produce.
In May, PIBS organized three visits to Cremisan for students from various grade levels at SIRA School. Each visit began with a valley hike. Equipped with exploration kits containing magnifying glasses, compasses, measuring tapes, forceps, specimen tubes, notebooks, and pencils, the students embarked on a journey of discovery, exploring nature like young scientists.
The visits concluded with interactive and engaging activities, including constructing models of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and crafting creative items from reused materials.
