The Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability at Bethlehem University, in collaboration with A.M. Qattan Foundation, hosted students from Thabra Mixed Basic School (grades 6-9) for a day focused on environmental solutions. This event was part of the “STEAM PalHouse” project, which empowers students to develop solutions for environmental issues in their local communities.
The day-long visit began with a theoretical workshop focusing on deciphering the rich faunal and floral biodiversity of Palestine and understanding its importance to humans. Following the workshop, the students embarked on a guided tour of the institute’s exhibits and botanical gardens, allowing them to witness firsthand the concepts discussed earlier. These visits aim to deepen students’ knowledge and enhance their awareness of natural history, while also introducing them to methods that can be used to protect the environment and ecosystem in Palestine.
