On September 19th, 2023, SIRA School students visited the Zbierski Library and Turathuna: George Nasra Center for Palestinian Heritage, where they were warmly greeted by the team led by Elizabeth D’souza, Director of the Library.
Juana Juha, Library Staff for Circulation Services, explained library protocols, sparking excitement as some kids tested book sign-out beeping. She also provided insights into the various rooms and the quiet study area.
Additionally, Mary Morcos, Curator of the Turathuna center, discussed the purpose of the jars and who typically wore Thoub el Malak.
A discussion about Palestine followed, led by Mary Morcos. They watched films about Bethlehem’s history and Olive pressing methods before concluding with a visit to the University chapel. The students enjoyed an informative and engaging morning at the Library.
