The Biology Department held a symposium on the genetics of neuromuscular diseases. About 60 people participated in the symposium including faculty and staff members as well as 3rd and 4th year biology students. Presentations were given by Dr. Valerie Delague, Dr. Marc Bartoli and Dr. Mohannad Daana and the symposium was moderated by Dr. Hashem Shahin.
The symposium was part of the joint Al-Maqdisi program titled “Deciphering the Molecular Basis Of Neuromuscular Disorders In the Palestinian Poputation” between Dr. Hashem Shahin of Bethlehem University and Dr. Valerie Delague of Aix Marseille in France and is funded by the French consulate- Jerusalem.
