Encouraged by Ms. Elizabeth Dsouza and Ms. Samar Mousa, the Turathuna team organized the ‘Learning Chess’ activity in George Nasra Center on Thursday, November 17th, 2022, during the activity hour.
Seventeen female participants joined this activity which was coached by Maher Takrouri, who won several prizes in chess competitions. Two students joined to coach along with Maher Takrouri: Mo’taz, and Yazan Zawahreh. Using the projector, Mo’taz and Maher gave a brief presentation on the history of chess. Maher and his friends dream to teach Chess at schools in Palestine.
