Bethlehem Business Incubator (BBI) at Bethlehem University in collaboration with Applied Research Institute Jerusalem (ARIJ), hosted its first-ever Agriculture Hackathon as a crucial part of a project supported by the Spanish Development Cooperation to economically empower Palestinian women and young farmers in agriculture, allowing them to gain access to new marketing channels. Individuals and groups from all over the West Bank, including new university graduates, participated in teams, brainstorming a marketing strategy to creatively promote Palestinian products belonging to Palestinian women cooperatives.
At the end of the day, each team presented its marketing strategy to a group of four judges, and five teams were chosen to take part in a series of training on marketing and business. After this training, one team of students will be chosen to initiate their own marketing hub start-up business funded by the project.
