The First Cohort of the Software Engineering students, a total of 25 students who will graduate in Spring 2021, from the Faculty of Science at Bethlehem University presented their graduation projects on Tuesday, 25 May 2021, in the Auditorium.
The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ishaq Sider, Palestinian Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology.
In his welcoming remarks, Vice Chancellor Brother Peter Bray said “we created a strong passionate program in software engineering and one of the successful aspects was that the industry was willing to provide internships for our students.”
“Today we celebrate the collaboration with the local companies in looking at what the students have produced over the past four years. I feel very satisfied when I see our students developing their skills in IT and facing the challenges that are part of the industry,” Brother Peter added.
Dr. Sider said “Bethlehem University graduates are distinctive and a source of pride in the scientific and practical fields. I am very pleased to be with you here in the presentations of the first cohort of the software engineering students at Bethlehem University.”
Chair of the Software Engineering Department, Dr. Suheil Odeh, said we are proud that the Software Engineering program is a unique program among other Palestinian universities that qualifies students to work in the industry.
A total of 11 projects were displayed in the auditorium where students explained the ideas and challenges of their projects.
The DR-VR, which is an example of the presented projects, is an educational method to train prospective doctors and nurses by simulating real-life medical cases with medical surgeries and examinations in virtual reality technology.
