The Office of the Dean of Research and the Research Council organized a colloquium on epilepsy in Palestine. The event, which was attended by several faculty members from different departments, was held virtually via Google Meet on Thursday, 5 November 2020.
Prof. Moien Kanaan, the Director of Hereditary Research Laboratory, and Ms. Christina Canavati, lab assistant, discussed their research project titled “Identification of Epilepsy Genes through Family Studies in Palestine,” which was funded by a grant from the Ministry of Higher Education through Bethlehem University.
This colloquium is the second in the Research and Creativity colloquia for the 2020-2021 academic year. The first colloquium hosted Dr. Said Ayyad, the chairperson of the Arabic Department, and Mr. Khalid Faqih, an Instructor in the media program, who discussed their project, “The Photographic Memory of Bethlehem,” which was also funded by MOHE.
In his remarks, the Dean of Research Prof. Jamil Khader said, “This series of colloquia aims to showcase faculty research, introduce its sources of funding, encourage critical and constructive exchanges about research, and provide opportunities for researchers to network and form interdisciplinary research clusters.”
