Executive Vice President Fr. Dr. Iyad Twal made a special visit to the office of His Excellency Bethlehem Governor Kamel Humeid, in the presence of Ms. Vera Baboun, the former mayor of Bethlehem, on Thursday, 1 October 2020.
Fr. Dr. Twal stressed in his visit the importance of continuing the cooperation between Bethlehem University and the governorate, especially in light of the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the governorate.
Fr. Dr. Twal praised the role of the governor in dealing with COVID-19 through the emergency committee of the governorate.
The governor Humeid welcomed Fr. Dr. Twal and expressed his pride in being a graduate of the University.
Fr. Dr. Twal’s visit comes within the framework of strengthening the University’s relationship with the local community. He made similar visits to the municipalities of Bethlehem, Beit Sahour, and Beit Jala, during which he met with the mayors of Bethlehem, Beit Sahour, Beit Jala, and a number of employees to discuss ways to deepen the cooperation with the University.
