Bethlehem University and the Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) signed an agreement to extend the support of the Higher Diploma Programme in Oncology and Palliative Care on Monday, 10 September 2018.
Aimee Shalan, Chief Executive of MAP, Steven James, Chairman of MAP, Mira Mukarker, Director of MAP Programmes in the West Bank, and Mariam Awad, Dean of the Nursing and Health Sciences Faculty attended the event.
Vice Chancellor Brother Peter Bray welcomed the representatives of MAP and thanked them for their support which would enable the university to continue its commitment in helping Palestinian people through education.
Ms. Shalan said that “MAP’s vision is to support the Palestinian people through a long-term development of a better healthcare and we are proud to have it realized through this programme”.
Ms. Mukarker expressed her satisfaction with the way the programme is being implemented along with its results. She praised the university’s nursing team and hoped the program would develop into a Masters degree.
MAP is a UK based charity which was and still is the main supporter of the High Diploma program in Oncology and Palliative Care. MAP is also the main supporter of the international conference on Oncology and Palliative Care which the University will hold in December.
