Nada Qashqish, who is undergoing treatment at the Augusta Victoria Hospital, sat for the admission exam of Bethlehem University at the hospital on Thursday, 19 July 2018.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Irene Hazou, and a delegation from the university visited Qashqish to hold the exam.
Dr. Hazou pointed out that the university provides education to all segments of society and sickness should not be an obstacle to our Palestinian students. Therefore, Bethlehem University administration decided to provide a full scholarship to Qashqish in recognition of her high marks in the high school examination results.
Waleed Namour, Director General of the Hospital, thanked Bethlehem University for this initiative and for supporting Nada in her higher education to achieve her dream of continuing her studies.
Nada Qashqish is from Halhoul, south of Hebron, who suffers from leukemia. She has passed the high school exams while she was in the hospital with the result of 96.4%. She aspires to study English language and literature at Bethlehem University.
